Uprooted Combat Demo is Go!
After what has been far too many years, Uprooted is ready for its first public demo!
Uprooted is a turn-based RPG visually inspired by Harvest Moon 64 and the Harvest Moon Game Boy games, as far as the gameplay goes, there's no relation. This isn't a game about building up your perfect farm and befriending the townsfolk, it's a game about revenge against a protein drink start-up trying to destroy your home. And revenge is a dish best served with a side of veggies.
A long long time ago, Uprooted was a game that looked like this:
Originally written as a browser game with a custom engine, the game was maybe 80% done, but the remaining 20% was solving very tricky bugs due to DIYing my own engine. Then I discovered the magic of the Godot game engine and I figured "might as well convert the game to Godot!" And of course, there's no fun in switching engines if you're just going to keep everything identical, so the new Uprooted is also getting a fresh coat of 3D paint and a much larger scope than the original game:
It's been a long time getting to this point, but now thanks to the PIGSquad "Finish Your Game" Jam peer pressuring me into working hard and making my progress known to the world, it's now time to hear YOUR opinion of this long in-development game about throwing vegetables at robots. I hope you give the combat demo a try and share your thoughts on it!

Allthough I liked the nes and gameboy style. I think this new look will benefit your game ! I also made a gameengine switch, from Cocos 2D to Libgdx and you learn a lot new things along the way…
I will miss the Game Boy style too; I'm still contemplating adding an option to switch between the two, but that'll come way later.
Switching engines is tough but definitely educational, and so far, definitely worth it!
